StartMenu7

A convenient and superior alternative to the Start menu for Windows XP and Windows 7. With Start Menu's 7 easy interface, you will quickly forget about the standard start menu. Every detail in Start Menu 7 is a pleasure.

Since you already have single-click launch, how about a single click tab?

You claim to be able to start any program simply by clicking on the program folder. What I am visualizing is a tab similar to the quick launch toolbar at the bottom. Any shortcut or .exe could be added instant by right-clicking. Or you can...

allow adjusting the transparency level on the areo skin. It's too light and the text is hard for my older eyes to see.

Allow a user to create new Tab groups which can be set up as working sets. For example, a 3D Graphics tab could contain Lightwave, Photoshop, Zbrush, Seamless Texture Maker -- applications normaly used by the user doing a 3D project. Or programming

When working on a project, there are certain programs that are used, and many that aren't. Separating these out to a tab where the user can find each quickly would be convenient. Maybe call it "Work Environment Tabs".

Have a seperate button on the taskbar to access this so I can still use the standard Windows Start menu.

I want to arrange menu items so frequently used items are clustered together and less frequently used items are located separately. You present, as a plus, the fact that you have taken a que from Microsoft developers and taken that option away. Alp

Add the ability to catagorise the applictations

for example in the all programs menu add categories that can be organized in different ways (like the drag and drop feature on google.com/ig (their customisable home page) or alphabetically

Include an option to hover over Start button to open menu vs. click or pushing Windows button

This would truly make it possible to rund items using only one click. If the option already exists, I can't find it.

...suggest a few things

Control Panel menu is not enabled by default, though my original settings 'display as a menu'. Pinned menu items were missing, for some reason. Make the interface smaller - I don't have more than 10 items in my (reorganized) 'All Programs' menu...

Have a preferences option for the preferred default order style, e.g. I prefer my lists to be sorted by type and name rather than the default 'keeps the position,' so currently I have to manually change each list.

put the 'most recently used' apps in the main menu pane where they are immediately accessible.

The most recently used apps menu should be easier to get to, and it would be nice if they were on the main start menu pane.

See adding a cache to menu items for faster response times.

If you add a cache to the menu list, the menu response will be faster so those of us who have a large number of items don't have to wait several minutes for the program to enumerate and display them.

Have the 'Most Used' programs list. I use that a lot, and Start Menu 7 doesn't have the option as far as I can see. Apart from that, it seems to be a great program. Thanks.

Make repetative entries or simlular things stackable. (Add the ability to stack things)

If you have 4 or more things that concern CD/DVD burning, then allow them to be stacked, automatically, or manually. This will lessen the problem of overkill, where the screen gets washed out with too much stuff.

I do not like it, does not have Control Panel Menu option yet.

Even after so many version updates, this program still does NOT have the option to show Control Panel as a "menu". Shame on them.

Be able to right click on an item and remove it from the list of programs, but not delete it from my disk.

I love the interface but I have many apps that I use once in a blue moon. I'd like to remove them from the Start Menu but not really delete them.

Drag and drop start menu folders to the tab area to create new tabs

Please add drag and drop functionality to create new tabs by dragging and dropping start menu folders. Also: If you could allow us to move folders between tabs with drag and drop, that would be great!

Make it so we can change the color especially on that bland solid main menu branch. That's just ugly. And Improve the look on XP machines. The Win menu looks better on XP. And add all the options that are available in the win start options menu.

see a control panel

A control panel would be useful for customizing the Start Menu 7 or Pro 3.8 to a users preferences and needs.

Make a Star Trek theme skin. Have Basic and Full ST experience.

My only suggestion is to still have a 'Pin To' command like the native Win 7 Start Menu. Some habits die hard.

First, the program ALREADY DOES almost everything people are ASKING for. I don't know what they are looking at, or if they are just that lazy to spend 5 minutes learning how to use it. As mentioned, a direct "Pin To" the left-most area - where the...

Add a 'Pin To' option like native Win 7.

A direct "Pin To" the left-most area - where the folders are - would be a nice feature. I have used "Pin To" for years, and I know that this method (Start Menu 7) is faster, but the option to "Pin To" would be cool. I apologize if it is already...
